Duluth, MN, June 18th, 2024 – Arbor Wood Co. and SaferWood are pleased to announce an exciting new partnership aimed at revolutionizing the wood products industry. This collaboration brings together Arbor Wood Co.’s expertise in thermally modified wood and SaferWood’s world-class exterior fire retardant, Thermex-FR, to introduce a new line of thermally modified, ignition resistant, Class A, wood siding and decking products.

Through this partnership, the company expands its offerings to include fire-resistant properties, thanks to SaferWood’s innovative FR treatment which significantly enhances the fire resistance of wood products without compromising their natural beauty or environmental friendliness.

SaferWood with Thermex-FR by Chemco renders wood “ignition resistant” as required by the International Building Code [IBC] and International Wildland Urban Interface Code [IWUIC] also satisfying Chapter 7A WUI for the California Building Code [CBC] for exterior use in residential and commercial applications where fire retardant treated wood is specified as a code compliant alternative to noncombustible materials.
