Brooklyn Bridge Park
Set under the iconic Brooklyn Bridge in New York City lies the Brooklyn Bridge Park, an 85‐acre sustainable waterfront park stretching 1.3 miles along Brooklyn’s East River shoreline. The boardwalk, which was originally completed in Ipe, a tropical hardwood now on the CITES list, was overhauled over the last 4+ years and our Ash Thermowood® was selected to replace the entire boardwalk. Averaging over 11,500 visitors with weekend averages surging to 60,000 visitors, the park board was looking for a sustainable alternative with the durability to withstand the heavy traffic, while aging gracefully among the New York skyline.
